Extraordinary Woman

She drapes a red saree around her slender body
The thin cotton fabric hangs loosely from her skin
A black-beaded necklace dangles from her neck
While a jade-green blouse covers her chest
Under the scorching sun, her dermis glistens;
Beads of sweat, like a drops of pearls
The heat licks her, yet she smiles shyly
She is beautifully out of place
Like the stars in daytime
There’s a swing in her gait
The way she moves her hips
A basket over her head–
Colourful bangles peeking through it
She is an extraordinary woman
She adorns a smile on her lips
