Lights Out! (Micro-fiction)

The air smelled sweetly of honeysuckle. Magically, the twittering of birds filled and flooded the silence of her room, and both her ears. She delighted in the symphony of the forest. A bird fluttered around her so close by that she had to duck her head. She was enchanted by the sheer elegance of this wonderful verdant world.

“Lights out!” The warden called.

The girl closed her book, and switched off the lights.
