Dainty Ballerina

As the Sun tiptoed in

Pre-dawn’s nimble rosy fingers

Nuzzled the nature awake

Through the salt-kissed ocean breeze

Came the dragonfly wafting

Gliding loftily

Upon its diaphanous, gossamer wings

Like gems glittering in the sunlight

Its cerulean eyes

Reflecting the evanescent waves

Lithe, and graceful critter

Willowy denizen from the virgin lands

Rollicking in the zephyr

Like an exquisite, dainty ballerina

Attempting to fly off

Into the wide blue yonder
