Tears
Unshed
Become
Part of later tears
Tears
Usually drawn in blue
Depicting sadness
A hollowness
Pure emptiness
But I paint my tears
A deep shade of red
The colour of anger, of revenge
And pure hatred
(I came across a beautiful piece of poetry on Source of Inspiration, titled “Unshed Tears“, and ended up writing this one.)
Thank you for this thought-provoking post!
The image alone above this poem is striking with the tears.
Dropping to the water out of sadness, anger or even fears.
It made me look and think about those thoughts that come to mind.
Those feelings that can be difficult and very hard to find.
The eyes are the window to the soul, this we are told often.
Tears can plead a case and a hard heart it can soften.
We do need to cry to clear the way of internal blocked emotions.
After tears, though bleary eyed, we can look to new visions.
